I think the 80gb at the moment has backwards compatibility but theres a new one out that wont and thier discontinuing the 40gb for the new 80gb

Well i haven't herd anything like that and i did watch E3  althought they talked about the PS2 abit too much

no, the 40 gb has only psx bc, not ps2 bc.

| A gamestop worker told me that. And if you have a handheld that has a rechargeable battery (gbasp, ds, psp, etc.) and it wont hold a charge, REPLACE THE BATTERY! (if the battery on a handheld dies)
